Costain, the engineering, construction and land development group, has announced a strong performance, which saw all of the Group's operations in profit for the first time since 1990, and a recommendation for the payment of a 0.5p dividend, its first in 17 years.
It has announced a pre-tax profit of £19.8m in the year ended 31 December 2007. David Allvey, chairman, said: "We set clear objectives for 2007 and I am delighted to report that we have delivered on all of them. The year's achievements have been reflected in the strong recovery in performance and the Board is especially delighted to announce a recommendation to return to the dividend list for the first time in 17 years. "In as far as 2007 was a landmark year for Costain, we expect 2008 will be a year of further growth and I look forward to reporting on our progress." |
