Construction output revised upwards
Friday, 04 December 2009
Construction output estimates for the third quarter has been revised up massively, the Office for National Statistics revealed.

It said construction output rose by 2% in the July-September period compared with an estimate for a 1.1% decline published in last week's second reading of Q3 GDP, which showed the economy shrank by 0.3% in the period.

This would suggest that the construction industry has moved out of recession.

The final reading of Q3 GDP will be published on December 22.
