Construction output estimates for the third quarter has been revised up massively, the Office for National Statistics revealed.
It said construction output rose by 2% in the July-September period compared with an estimate for a 1.1% decline published in last week's second reading of Q3 GDP, which showed the economy shrank by 0.3% in the period. This would suggest that the construction industry has moved out of recession. The final reading of Q3 GDP will be published on December 22. |
