A slump in UK construction activity has led to the closure of two brick making plants.

Brickmaker Wienerberger, the third largest brickmaker in the UK, is  to shed 80 workers and close two plants - one in Devon, one in Surrey.

The move to decrease producction capacity in a difficult market will be watched closely by the UK's other major brickmakers.
