Quantity surveyor Baqus which floated on AIM in December last year has posted its first set of results. The results are for the six months to end December and show performance indicated by the flotation prospectus. Turnover was up from £3.2m to £3.7m, while PTP soared from £45,000 to £440,000. The Group has been established to create a national building consultancy and quantity surveying group offering construction cost consultancy, project management and building surveying services. The three founding firms were Boxall Sayer, Denley King and Fletcher McNeill. The Quantity Surveying Market, which is highly fragmented, is estimated to be worth £1.3bn and is dominated by a small number of major players. Baqus'. Directors believe the market is ripe for consolidation and intend to pursue a strategy of acquiring small to medium sized practices across the country. |
