Sir Howard Bernstein has been appointed as the chair of ReBlackpool, Blackpool's urban regeneration company. The chief executive of Manchester City Council has stepped down from the board of the Olympic Delivery Authority to become Blackpool's regeneration chief. Since 2006 he was one of 12 who were charged with overseeing the building of the Games venues. He replaces Sir Peter Hall who stepped down as chair of ReBlackpool earlier this year. Bernstein will work on a part time basis with government and partners in Blackpool taking forward the masterplan for the town. |
