Rowan Moore, the Director of the Architecture Foundation has stepped down.

The move comes just two months after the foundation ditched its plans for a Zaha Hadid-designed headquarters building - a move it blamed on general economic uncertainty.

Moore, who has been director since 2002, said he would remain in the post until mid-June and then contribute part-time during a transition period. He now plans to focus on his writing career.
