RIBA appoint new fellows E-mail
Wednesday, 10 October 2007

The Royal Institute of British Architects' (RIBA) Council today approved 10 new Honorary Fellowships of the RIBA, to men and women from a wide range of backgrounds, including design, photography and environmental campaigning.

RIBA Honorary Fellowships reward the particular contributions people have made to architecture in its broadest sense: its promotion, administration and outreach; its role in building more sustainable communities; and finally its role in the education of future generations. The lifetime honour, conferred annually, allows recipients to use the initials Hon FRIBA after their name.

The RIBA's new Honorary Fellows are:

1. David Adamson – client
2. Hélène Binet – architectural photographer
3. Sean Billings – cladding consultant
4. Thomas Heatherwick - designer
5. Wangari Maathai – environmental campaigner and Nobel Peace Prize winner
6. Patrick Maddams - RIBA Board member
7. Aubrey Meyer – environmental campaigner
8. Daniel Moylan - councillor
9. Alan Powers – architectural historian
10.   Eric Reynolds - client
