New names for BRAC E-mail

Iain Wright, Junior Housing and Planning Minister, today announced seven new appointments to the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC), the consultative body which provides strategic and technical guidance to the Government on standards for the design and construction of buildings.

They are:

* Tracey Aarons, Building Control Manager, Mendip District Council;
 
* Ziba Adrangi, Director, PRP Architects;
 
* Professor Keith Bright, Access Consultant and Chartered Building Surveyor;
 
* Nicholas Cullen, Research and Development Partner, Hoare Lea Consulting Engineers;
 
* Trevor Haynes, Building Control Manager, Birmingham City Council;
 
* Adrian Levett, Consultant in Change Management; and
 
* Andrew Shipley, Policy Manager, Equality and Human Rights Commission.

The new BRAC members took up their posts on 1 October 2007 and will initially serve for three years. Following the conclusion of their term of appointment, two current members of the Committee - Sean Walsh and Kelvin Williams - stood down at the same time following seven years' service. There will be further changes to the membership in 2008.
