| New chairman for Balfour Beatty |

Balfour Beatty plc has announced that Sir David John, who has served as Chairman of the company since 2003, is to retire following May's AGM and will be succeeded by Steve Marshall. Marshall,51, who joined the Balfour Beatty Board as a non-executive Director in 2005, is currently non-executive Chairman of Delta and also a non-executive Director of Southern Water. He is a former Group Chief Executive of Thorn and Railtrack Group having served as Finance Director at each company. |
