| Ener-g appoints new group managing director |

Derek Duffill has returned to his Manchester roots to take up a key strategic appointment as group managing director of Salford based sustainable energy technology business Ener-g Holdings. Derek, 55, a qualified electrical engineer will be responsible for driving Energ’s ongoing international growth programme, which has seen the recent UK acquisitions of metering specialist Switch2 and utility services company CMR Consultants, together with a new South African joint venture to control 70% of the country’s landfill gas business. He was recruited from building information management and control company TAC (UK) where he was managing director, responsible for taking turnover from £12m to £100m. Ener-g provides renewable and energy efficient power generation and management to a global customer base. It has a turnover of more than £65m and employs over 550 people in the UK and overseas. Ener-g chairman Tim Scott said: “The recruitment of a seasoned executive of Derek’s calibre will enable us to pursue our ambitious global expansion programme.
“His experience of managing acquisitive growth, including the integration of new businesses into an enlarged group, augurs well for Ener-g and I am confident that his appointment will prove mutually rewarding.” |
