P+HS Architects has been appointed to lead the planning and design requirements for the Nuffield Hospitals development scheme. The appointment is worth in excess of £10m to the Practice each year.

P+HS will partner Davis Langdon, White Young Green and Kendall Kingscott working alongside Nuffield on a programme of works, which will include the development of new facilities and the remodelling of interiors for 20 sites located throughout the North and as far South as Birmingham.

Work has already started for a major £7.7 million upgrading and redevelopment programme for Nuffield in Newcastle.

Nuffield Hospitals provides healthcare that is accessible and affordable from a property base of 40 hospitals, and range of other treatment facilities.

P+HS Architects is based in Leeds and Stokesley (North Yorkshire).

Head of Procurement at Nuffield Hospitals, Andrew Jones said: "P+HS presented a very strong team equally matched by its response to the tender. P+HS demonstrated significant experience and understanding of the healthcare sector, which is critical. We liked the fact that it is a smaller Practice and the 'hands on' team includes the Managing Director, Chris Potter, you don't always get that level of involvement with larger Practices."
